Meet Rachael Mahony  from the PA DCNR Bureau of Forestry and Richard Jacob from WPMC for this introduction to fungi walk. Join us for a 2 mile hike through the forest where we will discuss the different types of mushrooms from polypores to gilled mushrooms and everything in between, what they eat, where they live and how they reproduce.

The meeting point is at the Grove Run picnic area in Linn Run State Park. We will be walking the Forbes State Forest portion of the trial (out-and-back)~2 miles.

The varied topography and mixed hardwood and evergreen forest make the 612-acre Linn Run State Park a scenic place for picnicking, hiking and cabin rentals. Grove and Rock runs join to make Linn Run, an excellent trout stream, has the lovely Adams Falls. Forbes State Forest borders Linn Run State Park and offers 50,000 acres of land for outdoor recreation.

Sometimes the address and location information for a meeting point is not 100% accurate. Some parks and meeting point do not have a street address so it is difficult to program the map to point to the exact location. We request that no one hunts a walk or foray location for at least two weeks prior to a walk or foray. It is only through your cooperation that we can have successful walks and forays. All walks & forays will be held rain or shine. Come 15-30 min early and socialize. All walks start on time, so be early, if you are late we will already be in the woods. If you are a club member and have already joined our Facebook Group you can find last minute additions or changes there.
