Meet walk leaders John Pilschke III  and Scott Pavelle at Pine Ridge Park for a bolete walk.
Use the entry at the north side of the park not the road to Pine Ridge Lodge. Drive down the park road  largest parking lot is at the end of the road by the last pavilion and restrooms. Meeting point is there.

We will be hunting for boletes, many of which are in high season toward the end of June just before the flush of summer mushrooms like chanterelles begins to hit. Boletes are notoriously erratic, but John Pilschke III has found a lot of them here in the past including both desirable species like B. bicolor, B. subcaerulescens, and X. separans. We don’t expect actual B. edulis (porcini/cepte), but subcaerulescens is considered a part of the greater edulis family and are definitely good eats. We will find other mushrooms along the way, which is all to the good. Boletes are the theme, not the singular target.

Sometimes the address and location information for a meeting point is not 100% accurate. Some parks and meeting point do not have a street address so it is difficult to program the map to point to the exact location. We request that no one hunts a walk or foray location for at least two weeks prior to a walk or foray. It is only through your cooperation that we can have successful walks and forays. All walks & forays will be held rain or shine. Come 15-30 min early and socialize. All walks start on time, so be early, if you are late we will already be in the woods. If you are a club member and have already joined our Facebook Group you can find last minute additions or changes there.
