Brrrrrrrrrr revisited

We didn't have any frost damage at all so hopefully we have some nice fresh fruit this summer.

I managed to get in about ten minutes of more hunting today. It seems pretty dry. I found a glass coke bottle. I only got in about ten minutes because I was on the clock and headed out to pick up some line stone for the store.

In theory when you own your own business you manage you own time and can do whatever you want. This is not true when you work with your wife.

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Well it couldn't last forever. It is after all only the beginning of April. We haven't had the onion snow yet. On the bleak side I fear that my fruit crop will be decimated tomorrow night when the temperatures dip to freezing. On the bright side my asparagus has begun to send up shoots and soon we will see apple blossoms. Both of these are harbingers of the morel season. I am never among the first to find the elusive black and greys but I know to be patient. My time will come.

Frost out of the ground

A good sign that the frost is out of the ground is the sound of a chorus of peeper frogs that began their serenade last night. Don't count out the onion snow. I'd like to get out on the cross country skis one more time. There's still snow around. I've got to get my trees pruned. The weather set me behind. Two weeks ago I still had about two feet of snow in the orchard.
