Species Description

Common Name: American Slippery Jack; Chicken Fat Suillus

 Grows under white pine. Cap is very viscid. Stem is often hollow. Fingers stain brown from handling. There are two California versions, riparius and megaporinus. Both of those are notable for their huge pores.
