Boletus variipes

Description

Cap often cracks in maturity. White pores yellow with age. Often bulbous stem is usually netted either white or brown. Cap some shade from tan to yellow-brown, to straight brown. Variipes var. fagicola, from Michigan, has a very dark cap and stem.
