Phellinus robiniae

Description

Common Name: Cracked cap polypore, Locust polypore

 A common miss spelling is Phellinus robineae. Grows on (Black) Locust trees. There are some related species that grow on different tree species. The growth can change direction once the tree has fallen and the fungus continues to grow.
