Description

Common Name: Witches’ Butter

 Looks very similar to the less frequently found Dacrymyces chrysospermus. The main differences are that grows on hardwood and is associated with Stereum species. The two species can easily be separated by microscopic analysis as it has has tuning-fork shaped basidia and multi-septate, curved-oblong spores.
