Xanthoconium affine var. reticulatum
Description
Description
Cap brown, sometimes tinged toward red or yellow, often with yellow spots (var. maculosus). Pores are white, aging to yellowish tan. Nothing blues. Stem white & tan, sometimes brown or with hints of pink or purple. There are three recognized variations in this complex. Affine var. affine has no netting except a tiny bit at the very top. Affine var. maculosus is called the Spotted Bolete because it has white/yellow spots all over the cap. Affine var. reticulatum has conspicuous brown netting on the stem. Yellow-brown spore print.
