Xylaria cornu-damae

Description

Long thin fingers growning in a branch like array. The tips of the branches and the bottom of the specimen are not fertile and have no perithecia (the reproductive pores that release spores). You can use a hand lens to check this. The branches often flatten out and are not cylindrical.
