Xylaria cubensis

Description

Anamorph of Xylocoremium flabelliforme. If you split the wood in half it appears to grow from a small roundish black colored ball. There are 2 states of it the other state looks like a coral with a lot of powdery spores. Rarely seen. This the more common state can often be found a couple of times per year.
