Do you want some of your fungal specimens DNA sequenced for free? Join Week 2 of the 2019 Continental MycoBlitz.

It’s simple. Next week, Oct. 20-27, photograph specimens in the field, upload them to iNaturalist, and collect/dry your interesting mushrooms. Mail up to ten of your most interesting specimens to Purdue University. A full set of instructions can be found at this link.

The club has two walks during the event. There is a midweek special at Cook Forest State Park. Cook Forest has a diverse environment from old growth Hemlocks to Oak forests. This means there are lots of different fungi there and we have over 365 species in our records for the location. Wednesdays walk will surely increase that number.
And on Saturday 26th there will be a club walk at Peters Lake Park.

If you cant make either of those events please consider collecting then submitting samples by yourself.
