Meet Gary Lincoff for a pre-foray walk at Cook Forest State Park.
The 8,500-acre Cook Forest State Park lies in scenic northwestern Pennsylvania. Once called the โBlack Forest,โ the area is famous for its stands of old growth forest. Cook Forestโs โForest Cathedralโ of towering white pines and hemlocks is a National Natural Landmark.
Meet at North Park Swimming pool parking lot at 7.45am. The bus will leave for Cook Forest at 8am sharp! Morning walk with world renowned mycologistย Gary Lincoff. Return to the bus for a short drive to a local restaurant for lunch. ย Afternoon walk with a park ranger to visit the โForest Cathedralโ of towering white pines and hemlocks. Leave Cook State Forestย at 4pm, returning to North park at 6pm. The bus is state of the art with contoured reclining seats and armrests, A/C,ย ย andย lavatory. ย Bus trip includeย box or restaurant lunch. Alternatively meet us at Cook Forest ย at approximately 10am,ย bring you own lunch and join in the activities.ย The number of seats on the bus is limited so sign up now!

There will be close to 100 people in total on this walk. Because of this we have chosen not to accept anymore registrations for the walk. We wish to keep the day enjoyable for all, easy to manage, and with a suitable guest to mycologists/identifiers ratio.
