Meet club identifier Richard Jacob for our annual Dorothy Fornof Walk at Deer Lakes Park. We normally find a lot of mushroom species at this walk as Amanitas and Boletes start to show along with a lot of other mycorrhizae species.
Turn on Mahaffey Rd which goes into the park. Take the first right into the parking lot between the first two small lakes. This is the meeting location. Note there is no sign up for this walk, just show up!

Sometimes the address and location information for a meeting point is not 100% accurate. Some parks and meeting point do not have a street address so it is difficult to program the map to point to the exact location. Click on the link for any additional driving directions and meeting point information to Deer Lakes Park.
We request that no one hunts a walk or foray location for at least two weeks prior to a walk or foray. It is only through your cooperation that we can have successful walks and forays. All walks & forays will be held rain or shine. Come 15-30 min early and socialize. All walks start on time, so be early, if you are late we will already be in the woods. If you are a club member and have already joined our Facebook Group you can find last minute additions or changes there.
Are there any car pools?
Not that I know of, if you a club member you can join the facebook group and ask there.
do we have to join the Mushroom Club for $15 per year to join in with this walk please Richard.

Sorry, I saw this too late. No you don’t need to join most walks are free and open to the general public. If you like the event, want to learn more, want to support the club etc we encourage you to join.
