Meet club Mycologist Richard Jacob for the annual Dorothy Fornof Walk. This year we will be meeting at the walk start point rather than the parking lot and than driving round. We normally find a lot of mushroom species at this walk as Amanitas and Boletes start to show along with a lot of other mycorrhizae species. Note there is no sign up for this walk, just show up!
The main park entrance is Mahaffey Rd but there are a number of routes in to the park. If you enter the park through on Mahaffey Rd you will pass a kids splash zone and some fishing lakes on the right. Mahaffey Rd changes in to Kurn Rd. As the lake ends take a right on Cattail road towards the Deer lake Disk golf course. The meeting point is Walleye grove, Number 7 on the park map.

Sometimes the address and location information for a meeting point is not 100% accurate. Some parks and meeting point do not have a street address so it is difficult to program the map to point to the exact location. We request that no one hunts a walk or foray location for at least two weeks prior to a walk or foray. It is only through your cooperation that we can have successful walks and forays. All walks & forays will be held rain or shine. Come 15-30 min early and socialize. All walks start on time, so be early, if you are late we will already be in the woods. If you are a club member and have already joined our Facebook Group you can find last minute additions or changes there.
