Take a look at the roles mushrooms play within our lives, the forest, and in food systems. Learn basic concepts of mycology, explore into their biology and ecology and start seeing them in a whole new way. Learn the basics to recognize them in the field.  Use all your senses to learn about the vast & diverse world of mushrooms & fungi. Together we demystify their complexity and start becoming comfy in being able to recognize them based on their anatomy, smell and more.

BIO:

Olga Tzogas has been in a love affair with Fungi for over 15 years.  She started Smugtown Mushrooms in Rochester, New York in 2012 and from then began connecting deeply with the mycelial web.  Since Smugtown began, Olga has taught thousands of people how to grow mushrooms, identify mushrooms and plants, make medicine and learn about the glory of Fungi and the natural world.  She has been a key organizer for various mycological events like the Radical Mycology Convergence, Mycosymbiotics Mushroom + Arts Festival and a co-founder of the New Moon Mycology Summit.  Yearly, Olga returns to Greece to connect back to her roots, and hosts small groups to join her to learn about the Mushrooms and Culture of Greece.

If you would like to order fresh mushrooms, a mushroom kit, spawn or books from Smugtown Mushrooms please place an order at the shop and select “Store Pick up” as the Delivery Method and add a note to say that it is for the WPMC meeting. Olga will bring your order to the meeting.
