Join La Monte Yarroll and the Allegheny Land Trust for a species survey of Sycamore Island. The boat leaves the dock at 10am. There will be a collection to pay for the boat. Last time it was $8 per person.

We will have the Allegheny Cleanways pontoon boat to ride folks over to the island and will be shuttling from the Verona Public Dock located at 101 Arch Street, Verona 15147 starting at 10am. There are no restrooms on the island, but there are a few facilities available not too far from shore. We recommend long pants and close toed shoes as there is a bit of poison ivy off the trails on the island. We’ll head back to shore with our mushroom treasures around 12pm to identify and head our separate ways after. We should wrap up by 2pm.

Sometimes the address and location information for a meeting point is not 100% accurate. Some parks and meeting point do not have a street address so it is difficult to program the map to point to the exact location. Click on the link for any additional driving directions and meeting point information to Sycamore Island.
We request that no one hunts a walk or foray location for at least two weeks prior to a walk or foray. It is only through your cooperation that we can have successful walks and forays. All walks & forays will be held rain or shine. Come 15-30 min early and socialize. All walks start on time, so be early, if you are late we will already be in the woods. If you are a club member and have already joined our Facebook Group you can find last minute additions or changes there.
