Fabulous weather for a walk through the cathedral area of Cook Forest State park surrounded by towering Hemlock trees. A huge range of species were found and identified on this walk with many making their way to the display tables at the Lincoff Memorial foray in North Park the next day or selected for DNA barcoding. Amazingly 26 species new to the club were identified by club mycologists and identifiers. The area is so diverse with fungi that there were still unidentified species on the tables at the end of the day. Walk leader Garrett Taylor also led some smaller expeditions in the afternoon to other areas in the park to pick up a few more species not found in the Hemlock groves.
Species list entered by Richard Jacob. Species identified by Richard Jacob, Judy Mackenroth, John Plischke III, Walt Sturgeon, Garrett Taylor, La Monte Yarroll and others.
