Nice sunny day for a walk at Hartwood Acres. The Manor carpark has reopened so we took advantage of the new parking lot and explored some old hunting grounds. The group split in two with half going to mushroom valley and half to the opposite side past the manor. Lots of variatity but not mush of any one species. It did seem to be the week of the Lepiota with three different species found. From our records I don’t think we have found Callistosporium purpureomarginatum (Purple-edged Lute), on a walk before and it is rarely observed in western PA. There were a couple of small fun species like Cudoniella acicularis (Oak pin), Marasmius pulcherripes and Resupinatus applicatus/a> (Black Jelly Oyster) along with an interesting looking asco.
