It was a fabulous sunny and warm day for a walk at Cook Forest State Park. A good crowd turned up for the walk with mushroom hunters from as far away as Colorado joining us. We were in a slightly different location this year as the bridge at the normal location had been washed out. Despite the dry conditions we found almost as many species as last year with 126 species that were already on the clubs life list, 24 new to the club species and 4 specimens identified to to genus level for a total of 154 species. This is just short of last years 161 species and may go up over the next couple of weeks. There are some pictures of the mushrooms found in the galery on this page but you can also find more pictures on our Facebook page.
