Bear Run Nature Reserve at Fallingwater

Owned by the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, Bear Run Nature Reserve is located off PA Rt. 381, approximately 3 miles south of Mill Run, Fayette County, PA.  Bear Run Nature Reserve provides the setting for Fallingwater, designed for the Kaufmann family of Pittsburgh by architect Frank Lloyd Wright.

Meet WPMC Bolete Specialist Scott Pavelle at the trailhead, behind The Barn at Fallingwater, for a mushroom walk in Bear Run Nature Reserve.  There’s a parking lot and trail kiosk behind The Barn building, and the lobby has restrooms.  The mushroom walk is free and open to the public.  Following the walk, participants may choose to explore the grounds of Fallingwater.

We request that no one hunts a walk or foray location for at least two weeks prior to a walk or foray. It is only through your cooperation that we can have successful walks and forays. All walks & forays will be held rain or shine. Come 15-30 min early and socialize. All walks start on time, so be early, if you are late we will already be in the woods. If you are a club member and have already joined our Facebook Group you can find last minute additions or changes there.
