A wonderful warm Indian summer day with clear skies and beautiful leaf colors. A medium sized crowd talk a walk at Deer Lakes park in search of mushrooms. Plenty of Disk golf players were out and once they realized we were looking for mushrooms started to give up tips offs to where they had seen some and in one case handed me a giant puffball that they had found. Over 70 species identified including a number of edibles like Honey mushrooms, Blewits, Oysters and Bear’s Head Tooth. There were even a couple of lonely chanterelles that had not realized their season had finished.
