The main goal of this walk was to observe lichen. Walk leader and club president Stephen Bucklin entered this list, adding 7 lichen to the clubs life list. Also of interest was a fungal parasite of lichen Illosporiopsis christiansenii a pretty pink growth on Lichen and rarely identified in this region. Another new to the club species was a smut growing on spring ephemeral Trout Lily, Urocystic erythronii. Just observations on iNaturalist, 3 of which were made by club members in the western PA region.
