A hearty band of 20 mushrooms searched for mushrooms in Deer Lakes County Park on June 20, 2015. This walk is held every year in Deer Lakes Park in memory of Dorothy Fornof, one of the first group of “Club Mycologist” of the WPMC. This park was one of her favorite hunting areas. It did not disappoint the group because many mushrooms were found. They in included many boletes and amanitas, but a few black trumpets and chanterelles among many other species. The few light drizzle and brief showers did not slow the group down. Check out the list below along with lots of photos.
Identifications by La Monte Yarroll (many), Dick Dougall (some) and Richard Jacob (few). Species list entered by La Monte Yarroll.
