Comments:
The Chicken Mushrooms and Violet Toothed-Polypores were old specimens from last year’s growth. The Phellinus rimosus (Cracked-Capped Polypores) were nice specimens fruiting on trees near the over-look parking lot that have been growing there for many years. The Agrocybe dura (Hard Agrocybe) were nice fresh specimens fruiting in the wood-chip mulch next to the Nature Center.
About 2 dozen morels were found, primarily the yellow morels. See the picture of the happy walk participants. There was a common “critter” throughout the park, the millipede (see photo).
